Heat exchanger
An enthalpy exchanger is a device used in ventilation and air conditioning systems to transfer heat and moisture between two air streams. This type of exchanger enables recovery of both heat and moisture, which increases energy efficiency and comfort in buildings.
Advantages of an enthalpy exchanger
- Saved energy: It reduces the need for additional heating or cooling, because the supplied air is preheated or precooled.
- Increased comfort: It maintains optimal indoor humidity levels, which improves the feeling of well-being and health.
- Protection against dry air: It prevents excessive drying of the air in the winter, which is a common problem with traditional heat recovery systems.
How it works
The enthalpy exchanger works by transferring heat and moisture between outgoing warm and humid air and incoming cool and dry air. As the air passes through the semi-permeable membranes of the exchanger, heat and moisture are transferred from the exhaust air to the supply air without them being mixed. This enables efficient heat and moisture recovery.
- Efficient exhaust air removal
- Fresh air without allergens and pollen
- Moisture removal
- Summer and winter functions
